The Pye/Piccadill A's & B's 1966-73
If anything tells the story of Status Quo's rise to fame and becoming almost a national institution, these tracks reveal all. Two name changes and then, in 1968, the psychedelic-influenced 'Pictures Of Matchstick Men' made the UK Top Ten, also charting across Europe, and a Top 20 US hit. 'Ice In The Sun' was another UK Top Ten hit. However, the hits dried up and it wasn't till a heavier-sounding Quo roared back into the UK charts in 1971 with 'Down The Dustpipe', followed up by the grungy 'In My Chair'. Digitally remastered and slipcased, and with extensive new notes.
