Commando Presents: Sergeant Rayker

Sergeant Moses Rayker returns as his first two rebooted Commando adventures appear in full graphic‑novel size, alongside classic Warlord pages, covers and behind‑the‑scenes extras. A thrilling collection following Rayker’s 1944 mission - and an old enemy who may threaten their survival.

Sergeant Moses Rayker, a non‑commissioned officer in the US army, first appeared in DC Thomson’s adventure comic Warlord in 1979 and became an instant fan favourite as he took on discrimination and prejudice from Axis and Allies alike. His story continued in the weekly Warlord, annuals and summer specials until 1984. Then, in 2025, Rayker returned for more adventures in Britain’s longest‑serving war comic, Commando.

In this collection, his first two rebooted Commando issues are blown up to full graphic-novel size:
In 1944, during a daring escape over the Italian mountains, Rayker and his squad encounter a familiar face. Buford ‘Bubba’ Ballard clashed with Rayker before the war, and Ballard still holds a grudge. Nonetheless, Rayker knows his duty is to escort Ballard past the German checkpoints and safely home. Can both men keep their cool
long enough to survive? Or will Rayker end up smacking the tar outta him before they make it back?

Read Rayker’s legacy reboot alongside the first eleven issues of the original comic pages in Warlord, classic covers and a behind‑the‑scenes look at how the new issues were created.
