Celefar is broken. The once proud, plentiful farms are now brutally held in an enforced contract with the insatiable greed of the Town. A charter, created by the treacherous Governors out of their promise of salvation from the marauding, half-beast Longhairs. Alexander knew it was all a lie, he just couldn’t understand why no one else did. As he works alongside his grieving father, a devastating crop failure strikes. A mysterious sickness spreads among the adults, leaving them unable to function as the animals fall victim to a maddening infection.
